I've decided to renew my interest in this blog. It's been well over a year since my last post and in that time i've managed to fit in quite a bit.
I've just entered my fourth year in Culinary Arts in D.I.T. and during this, my final year, I'll be doing a thesis. I'm going to investigate Biofuels, whether or not they are a good thing when you consider that the grain used to produce Ethanol could go to feeding the world poor. Its a very current topic and something which is of huge global significance.
For the past summer I worked in Le Manoir Aux Quat'Saisons in Oxfordshire. This is a two michelin star restaurant which is owned by Monsieur Raymond Blanc. RB is currently hosting the BBC programme The Restaurant, a reality show in which eight couples fight it out to win a restaurant that they will run with Monsieur Blanc. Working in Le Manoir was great and a huge eye opener for me in terms of what can be achieved through food.
Recently I began writing for the D.I.T. Student newspaper. I've been lucky enough to get some stuff published. I hope to post some recipes and reviews onto this blog in the coming weeks so stay tuned as they say!
